Gilley says, “Join me and the Washington Wild Things for a fireworks game night in support of our troops! This Friday, August 31st.”
Gilley will be returning to CONSOL Energy Park this Friday on a special game night in support of the United States Military. The Washington Wild Things and Operation Troop Appreciation (OTA) are joining together for “Operation Stuff the Truck,” where game attendees are encouraged to bring donation items for members of our military serving overseas. And, it’s a fireworks night! It’s a great way to enjoy the last day of August while contributing to a good cause, and you can meet Gilley and the Wild Thing, the Wild Things’ “wild creature” mascot.
Gilley and Gillece have attended Wild Things games this summer and passed out free Gillece water bottles to educate the community about the importance of drinking water quality. Gilley has teamed up with the Wild Thing, as well, to greet fans, take pictures, and entertain the crowd. Now you can meet Gilley and the Wild Thing, enjoy a baseball game with fireworks, and help our troops all in one night!
Attendees who bring a donation item will receive $2.00 off their ticket purchase, and “thank you” cards and banners will also be available for everyone to sign. OTA, a nonprofit organization aimed at providing troops with “wish list” items, has requested items that they are in need of the most. You can see the full list at: http://washingtonwildthings.com/landing/index. The Game starts at 7 against the Schaumburg Boomers. We’ll see you there!
