Pittsburgh is an undeniably cool city that just so happens to be home to our company and valued customers. Others have noticed our cool status in recent years, naming us “America’s Most Livable City” and giving people plenty of reasons to plan a trip or a move here. While there are probably 100, we’ve chosen the top 5 coolest things about Pittsburgh.
1. Bridges
Fort Pitt, Roberto Clemente, Andy Warhol, and Rachel Carson are just some of the noteworthy bridges (also named for some noteworthy people) crossing the city’s three rivers. In 2006, the total number of bridges was determined at 446, more than Venice, Italy, the previous world leader.
2. Movies
Pittsburgh has been the background for more than a few major motion pictures, especially in recent years. From “Angels in the Outfield” to “Flashdance” to “The Dark Knight Rises” and “The Perks of Being a Wallflower”, big movies continue to shoot here. If Hollywood thinks we’re cool, who can argue?
3. High IQs
Smart is cool, and it just so happens that Pittsburgh was named the Smartest City in America in 2013. This was due to the number of universities and colleges per person, as well as libraries and museums. We also made the country’s top cities for newspaper and book readership.
4. Mt. Washington
Not only do we have a beautiful skyline, but we have the best view to take it in. Not to mention two of the few remaining inclines in the country running up and down the Mount. Mt. Washington is a cool place to live, to visit, and to brag about.
5. Gillece Cooling Technicians
