Common Problems with Vented Wall Heaters

vented wall heater Over time, various problems are likely to occur with heating units. There are several typical problems that can occur with vented wall heaters. In most cases, however, the common problems that occur with this type of heating unit are not very expensive to repair.

One of the most common problems with vented wall heaters is it failing to give off heat. This could be due to several electrical problems. A loose wire, a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse could be the explanation as to why the wall heater is not giving off heat. The problem could also be as simple as the thermostat not being on the correct setting or functioning properly.

Wall heaters also tend to take up quite a bit of space. If something large is placed in front of the heater or even half of the heater, then this can majorly obstruct the flow of hot air. To get the most heat out of your wall heater, be sure that it isn’t being blocked by any furniture or other large objects.

The fan not functioning properly or stopping together is another common problem with vented wall heaters. When this happens, inspect that all of the wires are connected and haven’t been burned or frayed. If this isn’t the case inspect the switch to ensure it is still working correctly. Again, there is a possibility that there could be a blown fuse that is responsible. However, the problem could be with the motor itself, in which case it’ll need to be repaired or replaced by a professional HVAC technician.

Another common problem with this type of heating unit is that it is blowing cool air. If this is the case with your wall heater this means there is an issue with the heating element. Turn off the unit completely and call an HVAC specialist to fix the problem.
